So welcome to growth minded conversations, a weekly podcast where we discuss growing lives, businesses wealth and mindset. Today, I'm here with Beverly Khobar. She is one of the co founders of growth minded talent solutions. And we get to hear her about her journey today. So Beverly, why growth minded talent solutions, all
growth minded talent solutions, the launching of that the opportunity in in help co create or CO found this company. Really every step on my journey was leading to this day in this moment in this time, and it amazing how
that happens. I feel like I could not have set up the Domino's if somebody had said, Paula, you have to set up the Domino's to get you to this end result set them up, right, I could not have done as good of a job as just my life journey has given me.
Right? Absolutely. We're everything we are today is because of the decisions and actions and experiences we had yesterday, right. And with, with this, with the focus on seeking talent, for others in need of leverage, for others in need of changing their lives, in their businesses, through hiring and having the right fit in their team. Everything I've done previously led up to this this time. And so with my heavy background in recruiting, and talent hunting, I'd say and vetting and screening and my exposure to some amazing people along the way. Mentors and leaders that impacted my life and even the way I recruited and interacted with others in leaving everyone better, leaving someone with a tool or a help with a path or help with clarity. And so growth minded talent solutions is absolutely a combination of all of those things.
So tell me more specifically about some of your because you were talking in broader terms fair, right labor? Yeah. So what are some more specific things that you experienced along the way that you actually bring to growth minded talent solutions, like everyone
else I have hired for myself and hired for others quickly, based on panic need prior to growth minded. I've also hired others source screened, and hired carefully and thoughtfully and tactically. And when it's done that way through a specific process, and assessing need and the emotion is removed from the process that results in six, I'd say much greater opportunity for success. And what I get to do with in my capacity of growth minded talent solutions is to take the tools that have been provided, I mean, kPa, from Gary Keller, that he had that created for us as a tool, in addition to assessments and knowing how to ask the right questions, and knowing how and helping people be transparent about what's most important to them in their journey in their path, from leadership, on the hiring side to an applicant or candidate. When transparency when an environment is presented in the interview process, that allows the individual to be transparent about what's most important to them, then that's the opportunity on our side, to understand it, to process it and to know whether to move them forward in this opportunity. Or if this is not what we would call the right fit motivationally mentally, mission, vision, value, culture. All of those things are integral to a successful management, operation and performance of a team. And so with growth minded talent solutions, getting to be part of that process to help that leadership that group that Rainmaker. Find that person the best of the best talent that would specifically fit their team, their group. A seat on their bus. It's beyond satisfying.
Yeah, that's so awesome. Can I share one of the talents you bring with you to Ah
yes.
Um, so for anybody who doesn't know Beverly, Beverly is very auditory. And to me it is always amazing what you pick up just from listening to people, you are so in tune with the words people use, how they say the words. The under underlying feeling from the words like I think that's a huge talent that you bring to us is how auditory you are.
It thank you it is it's my key lever for learning. It's what I leave with the think that if we listen, and when we listen, people will tell you what you need to know. We can learn about leadership and strengthen a person, we can also hear victimhood. We can hear blame, we can hear non non accountability in the language that they use in the court when they answer questions that we ask that have been carefully crafted, not by me. Yes, in order to be able to allow transparency, because basically, we want this to be a win a win win for anyone we touch. And when we get it right, which we do, in we hire the right person, or we make the recommendation that the person has checked all the boxes. The result in that is growth, enjoying the job and financial growth, and meeting the goals of leadership. When when we listen.
So there's a lot of times we'll have interviews with people where we can tell they're they're saying the things that they think we want to hear right? There something to the interviewer of I want to make sure I'm saying all the right things. And I do feel like that was how my generation was raised. Like we were raised. This is how you answer questions, I interviews, right? You don't go in and you don't be yourself. You raised. We were raised to say all the right things, correct advice would you have for those people who feel like they need to go to an interview and say all the right things.
If they're there, practicing practice is great. They want to present a professional image and a polished image and presentation, while being authentic to who you are. Absolutely hats off, I strongly encourage that. However, when we use someone else's words that have no meaning to us, it's empty. It's emptiness. So if you are preparing for an interview, learning about the company, I would always recommend that you when you answer the question, and you say that growth is important to you, you have to understand what growth is, what does growth mean to you, not to your neighbor, or your uncle, or your grandfather? What does growth mean to you? What does opportunity mean to you? What's your definition of the word we all use? And when you're authentic, and you learn and know yourself, then you can step in into an interview with confidence, and more comfort being in your own skin, and truly being able to answer and being true to yourself, which is then going to lead that applicant or candidate to joy in their path in finding a fit for them. So we often see people will say, Great fit or if it's doesn't, you know, people have hired swiftly or quickly their neighbor, their niece, or nephew. And it hasn't worked. It's like, Oh, bad hire or bad job or bad boss. When in essence, is it the fit? Would that person soar somewhere else? And so I think that's what we focus on. And I know that's what we focus on with growth minded talent solutions is finding the specific fit, of course, with the skill set. So a job is is posting is crafted to be specific to the needs of leadership of the client. And it's posted, of course, you know, can you do a VNC? Can you pat your head and rub your tummy? Check. All of the things that's needed, as far as task experience is, is just one component. And if the person can do all of those things, and has experience and all those things, and yet, when they're in alignment with mission, vision, values, and culture, and integrity, when integrity means the same definition to them, as it does to the people they're going to work with and for that's when the world explodes. And there's joy and growth and advancement in that company in that business with that team. I'm off on a tangent.
Know that that's really great. You And for all of you who think you're gonna come in and say, right, what you're supposed to say you've just caught. Beverly, if you're if you're going to use the word growth, she's going to dig in deeper, what does growth mean to you? Right? So I don't think there is any hiding. It's, which again, goes back to what do we bring? Right? What does growth minded talent bring? This is part of the experience we bring is, if you're talking to us, and you're saying, you're this word, we're going to dig into that word. We're going to find out what that means to you. If you say, You're growth minded, right, we dig into that word, and we find that growth minded to you mean something different than the position you're applying for. Right? We made us determined that that's not going to be a good fit. Yet, it doesn't mean, like you just said that you won't find somewhere else. Is that? Yeah, it's not a good and bad. It's not a right or wrong. It's so where can we thrive? Right? And be our best? Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, yep. Awesome. No, thank you for sharing all of that. So how do you see growth minded talent solutions, making a difference in the world.
I see it as a life changer, game changer for any professional, who is looking to grow their business, grow their business, change their lifestyle, change their work life balance, improve their life quality, as far as what their time on task as far as spending time on their 20%, the most important key pieces of their business, to find someone to add to their team, that will be the lever, that we use the word leverage and, and, and work life balance, and meeting more time these phrases we use. However, when we do find the best of the best for a team, it results in all of those things happening. Yeah, it's not a dream, it can be your reality. Our integrity of our company, growth minded talent solutions is focused on finding the best of the best talent, while functioning and integrity while speaking with honor while treating people with dignity, professionalism, and kindness, which is huge. In this world. If a person, were speaking on behalf of the client that's joyfully hired us, and therefore, as a representative of that company, while we are interviewing, and while meeting with candidates and applicants, that is absolutely at the forefront of our conduct. We follow our mission, vision values, and our processes. And specifically, while keeping in mind what what is most important to the team that we're working for, or the individual that we're working for. And so being an ambassador for them on behalf of them and all interface with future their opportunity for their future employees, or team members, or team leaders. I think that that's life changing. I know it's life changing based on the folks we've been able to do this for and how even now after all this time, we'll receive a call or if I see them at an event, I'm thanked. Oh my gosh, thank you so much. We our lives change with this add to our team. So that's it's a tremendous amount of satisfaction, personal satisfaction and professional satisfaction and leaving people better. We all leave an imprint, we get to choose what that information is. And so leaving people better empowered, strengthens their their answer to their the question mark of the who the missing person report filled, tremendous satisfaction that coming from a background and history of being in their place, being in their position. And now doing it the way it always should have been done. Based on the tools and the assessments and the processes that have been provided and created and in Gary's creation or of the KPA process, the assessment process and specifically remembering one assessment is not the answer to who you should hire 100% It's not the end all be all. It's just a component. It's just a glimpse of one component of the person. And so we need to keep the entire person in mind, entire client, leadership and team and then the new person that we're looking to recommend join their team. So making a difference. helping empower people to achieve their dreams and get what they've been talking about. They've wanted to do but didn't know how to do.
Awesome. Yes.
Passion, passion for when you find your passion. Just like finding the right fit. There's joy in that. I think that joy is contagious, contagious, and will propel you through the more challenging days, the more challenging months, which we all have. And that that's making a difference to
Awesome. Well, thank you, Beverly, for sharing today. I think everyone got to know you a little bit better.
Thank you, Paula. It's been my pleasure to be with you again, love spending time with you. And appreciate appreciate you so very much your professionalism, your integrity, your experience, and your heart.
